APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate from institutions approved by the Thai Higher Education Commission.

  • All applicants must obtain Dental Licensure from their country.

  • All applicants must not have serious illness or condition which may affect their ability to study.

  • Have English Proficiency score (less than 1 year to the application date) of the following: *

    • TOEFL paper-based /ITP not less than 550

    • TOEFL computer-based not less than 213

    • TOEFL internet-based not less than 79

    • IELTS not less than 6.5

  • Other exceptions may be considered by the Program Director, Program Committee.

 

         

        * The applicants may be accepted to the program under the special consideration of the Program Committee must retake the exam and obtain the required score before graduation.

CURRICULUM

 

Basic Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery   4(4-0-8)

Principle of surgery, thorough history and physical examination, principle of hospital procedures, pre-operative and post-operative care including pre- and post- anesthetic evaluation and treatment. Examination, diagnosis and treatment of oral and maxillofacial pathologic conditions cysts and tumors. Examination, diagnosis and treatment of oral and maxillofacial infection.

Case discussions on Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and related subjects

 

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic I   2(0-6-3)

Clinical practice on minor oral surgical procedures such as  difficult impactions and embedded teeth extractions, tissue biopsy, treatment of uncomplicated fractures in oral and maxillofacial region, odontogenic infection, orofacial fistula.

 

Advanced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery     4(4-0-8)

Principle of Oral maxillofacial surgery Examination, diagnosis and treatment of oral and Maxillofacial deformity, fractures diagnosis and treatment of complications. Pre-prosthetic surgery, complicated extractions, removal of impacted and embedded teeth, and periapical surgery, and treatment of temporomandibular disorders.

 

Seminar in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery II     2(2-0-4)

Seminar in basic sciences knowledge as applied to oral and maxillofacial surgical treatment. Special emphasis on various articles anatomical structures that applied for surgical treatment, microbial involved in oral and maxillofacial region, immunological and physiological response in various oral and maxillofacial conditions.

Preparations of patients prior to general anesthesia, post-operative care, major surgical cases assistant and anesthesiologist assistant.

Extensive review and critical discussion of assigned articles concerning all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery with special emphasis on Oral and maxillofacial trauma, infection, pathology, deformity pre-prosthetic surgical procedures and implants.

 

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic III             4(0-12-6)

Clinical practice on pre-prosthetic surgery, implant surgical procedures, facial deformity correction. The study interesting title in the clinical practice for the outstanding research work.

 

Seminar in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery IV     2(2-0-4)
 

Seminar related to the cases of systemic compromised that in the need of oral and maxillofacial surgical interventions especially in neurological, otolaryngological, plastics, ophthalmological and related fields.

 

 

Intermediate Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic 3(0-9-4)

The clinical practice which is more difficult in impacted tooth surgery and pick up this experience to do research work of this field.

Collection of patients’ data and present on the methods of examination, results, diagnoses and treatment planning, treatment and follow-up in complications for discussion in various topics.
